CENTER OF EXCELLENCE FOR ENERGY EFFICIENCY

Welcome to the Center of Excellence for Energy Efficiency (CoE) – the first technical support model to promote economical and efficient energy use in Vietnam. This initiative is implemented by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Embassy of Denmark, and the Danish Energy Agency within the framework of the "Vietnam-Denmark Energy Partnership Program 2020-2025" (DEPP3). 

The CoE serves as a hub for information provision, capacity-building activities, technical support, and stakeholder connections to realize energy efficiency solutions and projects for industrial enterprises. Through close cooperation between Vietnam and Denmark, we offer updated knowledge, advanced technology, and appropriate technical assistance that have been proven effective in numerous successful projects worldwide and in Vietnam, helping businesses optimize their energy efficiency such as: 

We share detailed guiding materials and tools on advanced technologies, energy efficiency and energy optimization solutions. These materials are based on the best global practices and tailored to the specific conditions of enterprises in Vietnam.

We organize training courses, workshops, and technical seminars to provide stakeholders with access to advanced technologies, in-depth knowledge, and suitable application methods. The training programs are designed, developed, and taught by leading experts in energy efficiency from both Vietnam and Denmark.

We hope that the CoE will become a valuable platform for sharing experiences and a bridge connecting stakeholders, businesses, regulatory agencies, donors, financial institutions, and consultants to find the right partners and solutions in the journey toward energy efficiency. Together, we can create a community that shares knowledge and experience, promoting energy efficiency for Vietnam’s industrial sector and contributing to the sustainable development of the country.

Given the increasing demand for energy and the growing scarcity of resources, efficient and economical energy use has become a priority not only for the government but also for all businesses and organizations. The primary mission of the CoE is to create a comprehensive, up-to-date database on efficient and economical energy use in industry. It provides international-standard consultation and technical support, offering technological and technical solutions to help businesses achieve their energy efficiency goals. The CoE also works to enhance the capacity of local authorities and Vietnam’s consulting experts, contributing to promoting energy efficiency activities across various industries.

CoE is designed to serve the following key groups:​

• Industrial enterprises: Especially key energy-consuming businesses looking for feasible and long-term energy efficiency solutions.​

• Local governmental authorities on efficient and economical energy use: Departments of Industry and Trade and other relevant departments. 

• Consulting firms and Energy efficiency service providers: Organizations and individuals offering consulting services such as consulting firms, industrial promotion centers, local energy conservation consulting centers, universities, and research institutes.

• Organizations and individuals interested in energy efficiency projects: Donors, financial institutions, commercial banks, industrial enterprises, technology solution providers, and energy-saving equipment suppliers.

As a non-profit initiative, CoE focuses on the following key activities:

1. Providing high-quality technical support: Conducting surveys, assessing energy efficiency potential, performing energy audits following international standards, and providing financial and technical cost-benefit analysis to help businesses make investment decisions.

2. Disseminating materials: Sharing and disseminating technical guidelines, technological catalogues on efficient energy use developed within the DEPP3 framework, and valuable documents from other stakeholders. We also provide updates and research findings related to the development and revision of the legal framework for efficient energy use.

3. Training and Capacity building: Organizing training sessions, workshops, and experience-sharing events on implementing energy efficiency projects in the industrial sector, capacity-building for Departments of Industry and Trade and relevant departments, industrial enterprises, energy efficiency consulting firms, experts, and related training institutions.​

4. Networking: Connecting stakeholders to promote investment projects for energy efficiency in the industrial sector.
